With everything transpiring in the world, this series has emerged from a need for an outlet. Rather than addressing the emotions overtly, these expressive creatures (some familiar, others invented) are all caught in moments of need, anxiety, or heightened feelings. Their small size and adorable nature contrasts with the urgency they hold, transforming the all too familiar overwhelmed feeling into something contained and shareable. Through humor and cuteness, I like to think my work offers a quiet release or comfort. Whichever we might need.
